ich (ich selbst die Iphigenie)

ich (ich selbst die Iphigenie)
One of the visually most powerful Beuys actions was the 1969 Iphigenie auf Tauris in Frankfurt: Beuys wearing a fur coat, with a bright white horse on a dark theater stage. He used the Iphigenia myth and Goethe’s dramatic adaptation to point to the freedom and creativity of the individual. Selected stills, objects, drawings, and literary statements document the moving performance.
